Interpreting The Bible
Brookswood Baptist Church
Hermeneutics, or, the discipline of handling the Word of God well: It is not enough to merely tell people to read their Bibles; we must also teach them how. Hermeneutics is a toolbox of essential principles, thoughtful guidelines, and time-tested practices for the study and interpretation of Scripture for genuine life change. Good hermeneutics also ensure we honour Scripture as the Word of God and equip us to seek the truth above human opinions, desires, and judgement. This workshop will focus on the need for and benefits of good hermeneutics in the discipleship of every believer, with a brief discussion of those tools and how we can effectively model and faithfully pass on a love for the Word.
Bethany Scratch is a member of Brookswood Baptist Church in Langley, BC, where she leads the Women's Ministry. She is in the process of completing her master's in theological studies while working as a music teacher.
There’s no denying it. Social Media is part of our everyday life.
Social media is a big deal, and there are so many variables — from networks to strategies — that make it hard to get started.
Creating a powerful social media presence for your church doesn’t have to be scary. This workshop will give your church the tools to help you feel confident with social media.
